Aerial View: October 2, 2013

Things have definitely slowed down in the garden now that we are past the equinox. The chickens aren't laying much any more as they begin to molt, and many plants have been harvested and pulled out. The bean house is way past its prime, the pumpkins and squash are curing on the vine (and one on the table), and the potatoes are still in the ground, awaiting harvest now that the vines have died back. Rye grass and clover cover crops starting to fill in, and half of the fall cold frames and greenhouse tunnels are in place. Autumn is here!
